The research goal is to develop recommendations for improving operational and ecological characteristics of technological devices for dust cleaning and drying the bulk materials. The research methods: mathematical and experimental simulation using laboratory plants. An experimental plant with various designs for developing a technology for drying the grains in the gushing layer is produced. It is found that drying at the maximum permissible temperature of the agent ant its minimal concentration is the most efficient drying providing constant gushing. The effects of drying in the gushing layer of seeds of oil crops (a rape and a sunflower) on the quality of the oil composition are studied. The obtained oil samples are suited to the main requirements for Ukraine's State standards. A calculation and experimental technique for prediction a fractional efficiency of a vortex dust collector is proposed using the results of calculations of a minimal collectable dust particle and experimental data on an angle velocity in a separation zone obtained with a full-scale mock-up of the dust collector. For development engineers it allows determination of the efficiency of specific types of dust for a developed device at the design stage. Applications: production processes and devices for drying the bulk materials and dust cleaning for various industries and agriculture. A technical proposal of a version of a production unit of a low-power drier for the farmers is presented. Methodic results of the research are formulated and prepared in the form of an educational supply for a complex of educational laboratory works implemented by the Chair of Technology for Storage and Processing Agriculture Products of the Dniepropetrovsk State Agrarian University in an educational process. Potential users of the vortex dust collector technology are determined. Recommendations on choosing the technological parameters of plants for drying the grains in the gushing layer and means for choosing the design and regime parameters of vortex dust collectors, as applied to specific types of an industrial dust, are made.
