The survey of 17420 school-children has been performed; data from 711 medical records of pregnant women and newborns have been analysed; 213 very preterm infants, 319 children of different age with headache, and 427 first form pupils have been examined using clinical, instrumental, functional and statistical methods. It has been determined that preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) positively influenced postnatal transition of preterm newborns, who less often needed initial resuscitation and subsequent admission to neonatal intensive care unit. Their morbidity and mortality in early neonatal period were lower than in babies of the same gestational age who were born to mothers without PPROM. About a half of all lethal cases of infants with birth weight less than 1500 g were caused by early severe intraventricular haemorrhages (IVH). The features of clinical course and outcomes of IVH were predetermined by infant's age and haemorrhage's grade. The incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in very preterm infants was 25,5 % and 7,8 % with clinical and physiological definitions accordingly and prevalence of mild clinical disease forms. The need for assessment of oxygen/respiratory support dependency at the infant's corrected age of 36 wks. with consideration of overall duration of oxygen administration exceeding 28 days has been proved to be mandatory to make the clinical diagnosis of BPD. The oxygen dependency profile during the first 14 days of life allowed identifying the babies with a high risk of BPD development. Peculiarities of school adaptation process have been identified. It has been established that after a few first months in school significant number of pupils had new complaints that could be treated as signs of school maladaptation. Administration of consecutive complex of preventive and rehabilitation measures including antiviral medication Arbidol, vitamin-mineral complex with probiotics Multi-tabs Immuno Kids and phyto-preparation Bone Appetite decreased acute pupils' morbidity and number of missed classes as well as improved indicators of immunological protection and intestinal microbiota content optimising the school adaptation process. According to the survey data headache was a common complaint occurring in 69,2 % of school-children. The incidence of headache was increasing with children's age and was higher in girls of adolescent age. Treatment of overstrain headache with Stimol and Magne B6 in pupils aged 7-15 years and with Stimol, Magne B6 and Stresam in adolescents aged 7-15 years significantly reduced pain intensity and duration, manifestation of asthenic sings and psycho-vegetative dysfunctions. Long-term systematic observation of children with bronchial asthma (BA) has revealed improvement or stabilisation of the disease course in 33,2 % of the cases before reaching adolescence and in 30,3 % in adult age. With the onset in childhood BA usually continues in adults. Even with favourable clinical course and extended clinical remission 37,9 % of adults still have signs of bronchial hyperreactivity. Verifying of infection with atypical microbes and parasites in children with uncontrolled BA course should be an indication for additional diagnostic and treatment interventions. Original methods of BA controlling, treatment of headache in children, and prevention of school maladaptation have been elaborated and implemented as well as approaches to diagnosis of IVH and BPD in very preterm infants have been optimised based on the obtained results. Implemented workouts have contributed to improving of health in children of different age groups. Product Description popup.authors Івахненко О.С. Беш Л.В. Боднарчук В.О. Борисюк О.П. Булак Г.В.
