To create initial breeding material by means of hybridization, including wide crosses, and treatment with mutagens. To explore the features of genetic systems which determine the formation of adaptive potential of modern wheat varieties. Results. Winter wheat lines with high productivity, frost and disease resistance, with high quality grain and flour indices have been identified. Seed of some bread winter wheat varieties and wide hybrids were treated with mutagens and sown in field conditions. Genes of vernalization requirement for five varieties bred at MIW have been identified. Field of use: winter wheat breeding.
