The comparative quantum- chemical analysis of interaction of oxide film on iron surface with the molecules of methylsilicate and phenylsilicate acids in an alkaline environment was performed. The conditions of the formation of the developed nanostructured hybrid organic-inorganic coatings were estimated by IR spectroscopy and assessment of the degree of surface hydrophobicity by contact angle measurements.
