The polycrystalline films of ZnO were prepared using the radio frequency magnetron sputtering technique and their dielectric, nonlinear optical, sensory properties, current-voltage characteristic were investigated. The computer calculations of the full energy, equilibrium structural parameters and atomic characteristics of ZnO bulk crystal, thin film and clusters were carried out. The mechanisms of sensory perception of ZnO surfaces were substantiated. The simulation of sensor properties and influence of size effect on the band structure of ZnO nanowires were performed.
