The place of agriculture in Ukraine in terms of major world production and trade in agricultural and food products is estimated. The role of agriculture in the national economy, in particular its contribution to the GDP, the consolidated budget of the National Endowment for consumption, the problem of employment is defined. The importance of creating a national model of multifunctional agriculture and shows the main steps necessary to achieve this goal is specified. The analysis of resource support agriculture, state agricultural environmental protection land and other natural resources is conducted. Specifically disclosed problems of innovation and investment of the agricultural sector, level logistics farmers analyzed the dynamics of domestic and foreign investment are estimated. The contribution of agricultural research and education in the development of the agricultural sector is highlighted. The qualitative composition of the soil, the changes in the structure of land use that has occurred during land reform, the level of concentration of land in the context of major groups of producers are analyzed. The dynamics of major agricultural products are investigated. The basic aspects of organic farming, crop rotation, compliance, the issue of agroecology are revealed. The activities of the domestic food industry are highlighted. Particular attention is paid to its constituents as dairy, oil and fat, sugar, alcohol, meat, confectionery and other industries. Attention is paid to the question of innovation in the food industry. The following key areas of government agricultural policy on rural development as support family management, promoting the development of cooperatives, industry associations, associations of owners of land shares and other associations of farmers, diversification of agricultural activities, increasing the effective protection of others are displaying. Analytical review "The dynamics of agrarian sector of Ukraine for 2005 - 2011 years: results and comments" and "On the implementation of the State program of development of the Ukrainian village until 2015" are prepared. All findings by official government data, structured in tables, graphs, photos and more are substantiated.
