Novel effective and highly selective methods of cleavage of the mentioned bonds are demanded in gen engineering (DNA and RNA hydrolysis), chemical ecology (detoxication of organophosphorous (OP) pesticides and OP toxic agents, derivatives of prussic acid), and in organic synthesis. The project is dedicated to development of novel synthetic systems for efficient cleavage of phosphoesters, nitriles and isonitriles, in which cooperative participation of metal-containing active sites and additional non-coordinated functional groups (which can act as intramolecular nucleophiles) in catalysis are combined. The proposed catalysts will be created on the basis of mono- and binuclear complexes with original chelating and binucleative ligand systems containing, apart of metal-binding compartments, additional donor groups (carboxylic, oxime, hydroxamate, hydrazide). It is expected that the target coordination compounds will mimic metal-containing active sites of the enzymes which catalyze cleavage of the wide range of phosphoesters and compounds with triple С N bonds. The project envisages search of rational synthetic routes for obtaining of the target compounds, their characterization with the help of analytical and physico-chemical methods, study of the structural and magnetic properties, study of kinetics of catalytic cleavage of OP pesticides and other phosphoester substrates, nitriles, isonitriles and cyanides; establishment of correlations between the structural, spectral, magnetic properties of the synthesized complexes and their catalytic activity. Establishment of factors influencing on the catalytic efficiency of the metal complexes will facilitate rational design of functional models of metalloenzymes and elaboration of novel biomimetic catalysts.
