Purpose of research - to determine the complex of the most effective and economically sound diagnostic measures for early diagnosis of relapses, regional and distant metastases of differentiated thyroid cancer during post-treatment monitoring. Methods of research and equipment - clinical, laboratory (amount of thymoglobulin and antibodies to it), radionuclide investigation, ultrasound scanning, computed tomography, radiography, histology, statistical methods. USD unit, gamma-camera, x-ray unit, immunoenzyme analyzer, computed tomograph. Theoretical and practical results - dependence of relapse development and primary dissemination of thyroid carcinoma was revealed. It was proven that development of relapses of differentiated thyroid cancer depended on the morphology of the primary tumor aggression and is not connected with the volume of the preliminary surgical intervention and total ablation of radioiodine activity. The data proving high diagnostic efficacy of immunoenzyme investigation in early detection of DTC relapses were obtained. Novelty - for the first time, analysis of the 15-year archive data of the patients revealed that relapses of thyroid cancer developed in 15% of cases in the first three years after primary antitumor therapy. New data about the peculiarities of the clinical course of DTC were received. It was determined that the number of local and distant relapses as well as their combination is almost equal.
