Their structure and mechanical behavior was studied. Firstly for aluminum intermetallics the thermally activated analysis of plastic deformation was executed and it was shown that the mechanism of dislocation motion in these alloys is determined by the Peierls-Nabarro stress. The weldability of IM Ni3Al was studied together with the Paton Electric Welding Institute of NAS of Ukraine. The structure and mechanical properties of welds were defined. The regimes of preliminary heat treatment of weld and the final heat treatment in which the weld has the same strength and ductility as the initial intermetallics were founded. The optimized composition and technology for high-eutectic alloys on the base of Al-Ti-Cr composed of intermetallics with L12 lattice and the bcc-phase chromium was elaborated. An essential increase of ductility of these alloys was obtained. The complex of fulfilled studies represents a significant development of physical principles of strength, weldability, tribological and corrosion characteristics of intermetallics that are important for dispersion strengthened of aluminum alloys by intermetallic particles.
