For the first time an evidence of relationship pattern and the support for the traditional subdivision of the family Eulophidae into four subfamilies, was obtained based on a combination of molecular and morphological data. Data on morphology, parasitoif-host associations and systematics of Eulophidae were published as a separate monograph. The zonal and zoogeographical aspects of ant fauna of Ukraine are described for the first time, that is the background for the next issue of the "Fauna of Ukraine". The data on the ant of Poland are summarized in a monograph containing detailed taxonomic, ecological and zoogeographical characteristics of ants of the region (103 species from 25 genera ) and is also compared with the fauna of other countries. One genus and 13 species of parasitic Hymenoptera, two of which are described as new, as well as one genus and five species of ants, are recorded for the first time for the fauna of Ukraine. The data on long-term studies of parasitic Hymenoptera (e.g. on the superfamilies Ichneumonoidea, Chalcidoidea, Platygastroidea) of the Russian Far East are summarized together with Russian colleagues. 11 extant species and one extinct (fossil) genus of chalcid wasps as well as one fossil species of ants are desibed. Taxonomic, faunistic and morpho-biological studies of the parasitoids of Ormyridae, Eurytomidae, Torymidae, Eulophidae, Encyrtidae, Ichneumonidae, Braconidae and ants (Formicidae) are conducted based on the materials of Palearctic and World fauna, with an emphasize on the fauna of Ukraine. The phenomenon of the loss of the first instar in gregarious egg-larval parasitoids of Eulophidae is discovered for some Afrotropical species. In 2012, the department's collections have increased by almost 40,000 specimens of entomophagous insects, e.g. Proctotrupoidea and Platygastroidea (about 2,200 specimens), Ichneumonoidea (about 4500 specimens) and Chalcidoidea (about 7,000 specimens), ants - about 15,000 specimes. Research results of this phase were realized in 52 scientific publications, including three monographs and a catalogue of the collection materials and also in 11 abstracts and 32 scientific-popular articles.
