Karazin popup.description2 The aim of project was to collect the blood samples from Crimean Tatars, to create a collection of DNA for further studies in population genetic and ethnogenomic, and to genotype DNA samples by SNP and STR Y-chromosome markers. As a result of the expedition and laboratory work, a collection of more than 200 DNA samples of the Crimean Tatars was created, more than 100 samples were analyzed. Analysis of SNP-markers showed that the gene pool of the Crimean Tatars has 26 Y chromosome haplogroups. With a frequency of ? 5% six haplogroups were found: R1a1a-M198, J2-M172, G2a-P15, E1b1b1-M35, R1b1a-P297, I1-M253, with a frequency of <5% the following haplogroups were found: C3-M217, G1-M285, I2a1- P37, J1-M267, J2b-M12, L-M11, N1c1-M178, O3-M122, Q-M242, T1-M70, etc. The analysis of the genetic status of the Crimean Tatars among 40 ethnoses of Europe, Caucasus and Ural identified the greatest affinity of the Crimean Tatars to the Turkic-speaking ethnic groups of the Caucasus, Asia Minor and western Black Sea region: Balkars (genetic distance d is equal to 0.13), Turks (0.22), Nogai (0.25), Hungarians and Gagauz (0.25). The turkic-speaking peoples of Ural (0,38-0,42) and South Siberia (0,30-1,12) were genetically more distant. The genetic distances from the Greeks is 0.21, Romanians - 0.26, Macedonians and Italians - 0.29. Genetic distances between Crimean Tatars and different populations of their geographical neighbors - Ukrainians - range from 0.26 to 1.35.
