With the help of 33P-orthophosphate and lipid chromatography for estimation of cytokinin effect on phosphatidylinositol kinase activity in vivo on early stages of the hormone action in plants increase in PtdIns4P and PtdIns4,5P2 was observed indicating activation of phosphatidylinositol-4-kinase and phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase. In experiments with plant with blocked phospholipase C genes activation of PLC was shown in response to ocmotic stress and diacylglycerol kinase, that was accompanied by phosphatidic acid accumulation - a second messenger of signaling pathways.
