The theoretical models of the lasers were developed. The interferometric schemes for measuring distances using such lasers were considered. The possibility of the distance measuring with the accuracy better than 10 microns was demonstrated. The laser interferometer based on the broadband visible range diode laser for measuring small displacements was created. The sensitivity of 0.8 nm was confirmed experimentally. The potentially possible sensitivity is 100 pm.
