Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 The conditions of the formation of nanotwinning structure in vacuum condensates of fcc metals and their alloys during electron-beam deposition of components depending on the type of metal and deposition parameters were investigated. It was shown that the transition from micro- to nanoscale grain and elements of subgrain of the vacuum condensates of fcc metals strongly depends on the conditions of deposition (the substrate temperature, the characteristics of the vacuum deposition rate, etc.). The type of nanoscale substructures in vacuum condensates (nanotwinning or nanofragmented) is mainly determined by the properties of the fcc metals or their alloys. The regularities of the influence of size characteristics of the elements of micro- and substructure of vacuum condensates on their mechanical behavior and physical properties were established. It is shown that by electron-beam deposition in a vacuum of pure metals or their alloys with fcc structure can be obtained nanostructured materials in the form of a thin foil or coatings that combine high strength (3-5 times higher than the level characteristic for these metals in the annealed condition) and high electrical and thermal conductivity, high strength and high damping capacity, high strength and low coefficient of linear thermal expansion. Such materials can be used as a functional materials for producing conductors with high heat and electric conductivity, coatings with high strength and high-damping and highly strength foils with invar properties.
