Purpose: revision of currently in force «The List of Scientific-Technical Documents for a Permanent Storage Period» (2007) to move amendments according to the new edition of «The List of Sample Documents which are Being Created during the Activities of State Power Bodies and Local Authorities, and other Institutions, Enterprises and Organizations, Indicating Terms for Document Storage». Main objectives: to analyse the new edition of the List of Sample Documents and to distinguish STD for a permanent storage period; to move amendments to the currently in force List of Scientific-Technical Documents; to analyze the proposals on the content of the new edition of the List of STD from concerned government authorities and state archives; to prepare the final edition of the List of STD. Methods of research: observation, systematization, classification, comparative analysis. Theoretical and practical results: has been prepared the new edition of the List of STD. Novelty of the research: for the first time has been investigated the composition of scientific-technical documents for a permanent storage period after the entry into force of the new edition of «The List of Sample Documents…» (2012); has been defined their composition as a result of their direct examination and considering recommendations of the experts in state executive bodies, the Central State Scientific and Technical Archives of Ukraine, state archives in regions, cities of Kyiv and Sevastopol. Scope of implementation: the List of STD is intended for the mandatory use of state archives, archival and other divisions of all organizations that store STD. The List is used in determining the composition of STD for a permanent storage period by expert commissions in organizations and by state archives in work with organizations – sources of their acquisition, according to the Procedure of formation and activities of the commissions for appraisal of documents approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from August, 8, 2007 No 1004 (amended according to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from November, 28, 2012 No 1103). Efficiency of implementation: the List can be used by all archival departments, state archives in determining the timing of document storage during their appraisal.
