The main purpose of the work was to study the historical, political, legal and diplomatic transformations in the context of global and regional international relations and the role and place of Ukraine in it. Relevance of the research due to the fact that Modern or post-bipolar system of international relations is going through difficult and controversial process of formation, transformation and evolution of the entire world order. The peculiarity of its genesis lay in the fact that the new international order from the line 80 - 90 years of the twentieth century formed without influence of world war or revolutionary upheaval. However, establishing of a new system of international relations was accompanied by the appearance of whole group of the state actors, including Ukraine, on the international scene. Everything above requires in one hand, analysis of the current international system in the frame of exploring its relationship to the previous system of international relations as modern and contemporary. In the second hand, it requires to investigate the role, place and influence of Ukraine on the modern world political process. The practical significance of the results of this study is important for further analysis of these issues and applied problems of foreign policy of Ukraine to implement its geopolitical and economic interests. Accordingly, the main results can be useful for structural units of the MFA of Ukraine in the context of their work on developing foreign policy strategy and planning the international cooperation.
