Purpose of the study - to identify major trends and patterns of library collections, analysis of morphological, functional, thematic, typological heterogeneity of collections and other fund groups. Objective: A comprehensive book study, archeografic, bibliographic study of books (mono-and polythematic, serial, stretchable editions), art documents (visual, musical instruments, graphics, sphragistics, numismatics, etc.), periodicals (newspapers and magazines, newsletters, calendars), handwritten and cartographic collections of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine. Historical and bibliographical study of Ukrainian books and periodicals of the early twentieth century to create a national repertoire, historical and bibliographic databases as well as for information representation of collections. Results of research: historical and bibliographic databases of Ukrainian books (3250 positions) and periodicals (2,256 positions); database of obituaries published in Ukrainian Press (2126 items) which were used in preparing of collective works - historical-bibliographical survey "Ukrainian press in Ukraine and the world of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries" historical book study research "Ukrainian book in Galicia, Bukovyna, Volyn, Transcarpathian and emigration 1914-1939 years", "Bibliographical information in "Galychanyn" magazine, (1893-1913)", bibliographies and research papers.
