Research object - faunistic complexes of higher vertebrates (birds and mammals) of Ukraine. Objective - research and evaluation of the current state of the faunal complexes of higher vertebrates Ukraine with the aim to develop effective strategies for conservation, restoration and non-exhausting use in an unstable anthropogenic pressure . Work carried out by traditional methods used in ecological and faunistic studies using statistical techniques, mapping and GIS- informatics. This paper discusses : the role of the nature reserve fund of rare bird communities in preserving forest and steppe zones of Ukraine , preparation for the publication of the Atlas of bird migrations Ukraine , becoming the current state of avifauna Mountain Crimea and the main stages of its development , differences in phenology of bird migration in different regions Ukrainian Polessye , current state and problems of birds wintering in the dry steppe subzone of our country , especially the practical importance of the stay and migratory shorebirds Azov- Black Sea region , the state Anseriformes birds during autumn migration period in the south of Ukraine and development schemes of monitoring of game species, trees and bird migration shrub complex on the coast of Western Crimea and its use in developing a network of protected areas , the problem of preservation of bats fauna of Ukraine , the protection and restoration of populations of brown bears Ursus arctos; problems of conservation and sustainable use of European bison bison bonasus; formation of bird communities within the islands of the Dnieper in Kyiv conditions of increased recreational impacts and effects of other anthropogenic factors; sovopodibnyh current state and problems of their protection.
