Karazin popup.description2 The purpose of the work is to study the features of the modern social infrastructure in rural areas of Donetsk region , revealing its territorial differentiation and construction of the modern optimization model of the modern rural construction for the provision of the population's needs of the region. In carrying out this paper such scientific methods as literary, empirical, histori-cal, the method of the logical analysis, analysis and synthesis, generalization, com-parison, graphical, statistical, mathematical , mapping method have been used. Theoretical and methodical foundations of the study of the social infrastructure in rural area are highlighted in the paper, including the basic concepts, the structure of the social infrastructure, as well as methodics and research methods are given. His-torical and geographical and social and economic preconditions and demographic factors of the social infrastructure formation in rural area of Donetsk region have been considered. The features of the social infrastructure in rural area of Donetsk re-gion have been characterized component-wise and in details, in particular features of development of the cultural, education and medical sectors municipal housing econ-omy, residential services of the population, transport and communication infrastruc-ture have been defined.
