The goal of the study: to identify the main characteristics of social and political situation in the Kharkiv region. Method of data collection: formalized face-to-face interview at the place of residence of the respondent. The study examined the opinions and attitudes of the residents of Kharkiv region, namely: assessment of the activities of local government leaders; assessment of the work of the President of Ukraine; geopolitical orientations; opinion about the foreign policy of the country; attitude towards the perspective of European integration of Ukraine; intention to take part in the presidential elections in March 2015; assessment of the prospects of joining the Customs Union by Ukraine; opinion on the relations between Ukraine and Russia ; understanding of the European identity; components and factors of the European identity; evaluation of changes in the city and the region during the last year; awareness about the activities of the governor of the Kharkiv region, assessment of his activities; evaluation of the activity of leading Ukrainian politicians; electoral preferences of the population of Kharkiv region; social moods of residents of the region. Methods of data analysis: data processing and analysis carried out by a software package for processing sociological questionnaires OSA and SPSS-19.0.
