Paton Electric Welding Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 To study the effectiveness of different ways to control the behavior of hydrogen in metals physical and mathematical model of hydrogen diffusion by considering its interaction with traps (dislocations) was improved. The model is implemented in a module that is used by a software package designed to calculate physical processes by the finite element method. Calculations of the hydrogen diffusion in the weld metal showed that its redistribution between the crystal lattice and dislocations starts when cooled to a temperature below 300C and kinetics of metal cooling below 200C influences on the removal of hydrogen from metal and redistribution of residual hydrogen. Experimts and calculations show that the presence of the stresses below yield accelerates the hydrogen diffusion by 30-50%.
