I.p. pilocarpine (380 mg/kg) administration was shown to induce the the complex of behavioural and electrographic disturbances characteristic for the status epilepticus which is characterized by spontaneous postponed seizures development. There were shown firstly diazepam-, phenobarbital- and valproic acid antiepileptic effect in conditions of pilocarpine-induced pontaneous seizures. Diphenylhydantoin and carbamazepine failed to suppress the spontaneous postponed pilocarpine-induced seizures. Thus it was settled firstly the dose of a diazepam which prevents the pilocarpine-induced spontaneous convulsions development in 50% of rats equals to 9,64±0,98 mg/kg. The mean effective doses of phenobarbital and valproic acid were equal, respectively, to 15,53±1,54 mg/kg and 244,5±27,3 mg/kg. The development of the new therapeutic approaches that increase the efficiency of treatment and prevention of temporal epileptic activity are planned.
