General clinical examination, parent’s interview with reflux-questionnaire, common laboratory and instrumental investigations were applied to the patients. Control group consisted from 59 healthy children of corresponding age. The aim of study was to assess the factors associated with the risk of pathological GER. The monovariant analysis revealed that prematurity, mixed feeding and intrauterine infections were associates with the risk of GER. Such clinical signs as disorders of physical development, regurgitation and dysphonia were prognostically unfavorable. The association between GER and signs of connective tissue dysplasia (mitral valve prolapse) determines the importance of future research for detection of some genetic mechanisms of the disease.
