Aim - to study the quantitative contents of essentials metabolites in the seminal plasma as well as the physiological activities of men inhabiting radiation contaminated regions of Ukraine. Methods - radiobiological, biochemical, microscopic, spectrophotometric, chromatographic and statistical techniques as well as a method atomic absorption spectrometry. In the comparative mode it has been shown the abatement of acrobatу, glutathione, free carnitine and thiols, citrate and zinc in the seminal fluid of spermodonors living in the highly radiation polluted Zhytomir region compared to those inhabiting Poltava and Kyiv region. High radiation pollution of territories was found to be accompanied by the raise of spermatozoid mortality in consequence to apoptosis, the latter indicating directly the disturbances of spermatogenesis. For the first time it has been established the presence of acrosome dependent enzymes, namely acrosin, hialuronidase, acid phosphatase in the seminal fluid of men from radiation polluted regions that stands for acrosome obliteration in spermatozoa. Simultaneously, the accumulation of a-tocopherol, fructose, prostaglandin F2a (PGF2a) and 19-OH PGF2a as well as lipid peroxidation rise in association with prostaglandin E (PGE) and 19-OH PGE fall-down were documented.
