Aim: To determine characteristics of nontumor incidence in the Chernobyl survivors exposed to short-term or long-term ionizing radiation in small doses, to justify and develop research program on the impact of psychosocial factors on basic nontumor diseases. Methods: epidemiological, medical-and-statistical, simulation; clinical. Results: The data of SRU and CER were used to form the cohorts of the Chernobyl clean-up workers 1986-1987, evacuees, inhabitants of contaminated areas, including those of clean-up workers and evacuees obtained whole body external doses, evacuees with thyroid doses, inhabitants of contaminated areas with individual cumulative doses; descriptive epidemiological study was conducted. Digestive and circulatory diseases make the greatest contribution to the structure of non-tumor incidence. It was noted that incidence rate and structure were dependent on age at exposure (0-17, 18-39, 40-60 years) and time after the accident. In the post-accident period (1988-2011), the highest incidence rate for the majority of investigated diseases were observed 12-21 years after the Chernobyl accident, for some diseases - within the first years after the accident and 12 years later. To determine the psychosocial factors there were developed questionnaires and conducted a sample survey of clean-up workers and evacuees within CER system. According to random clinical examination of cleanup workers and evacuees, cerebrovascular pathology was the most common (in more than 80% people), while the pyramidal system and the brain stem were the most sensitive. Mental and behavioral disorders were diagnosed in 60% of patients. "Other mental disorders due to injury or brain dysfunction, or as a result of physical illness" were predominant. Determined that the persons with the demonstrative type of behavior are more resistant to stress, whereas those with elevated excitability are at higher risk of psychosomatic disorders. Implementation: 6 scientific works were published and 4 were prepared for publication, textbook, information sheet (draft). Fields of application: epidemiology, hygiene, public health, clinical radiobiology, psychiatry and neurology, clinical psychology. Product Description popup.authors Антипчук К.Ю. Бомко М.О.
