A carbon was entered in powder by the method of chemical reaction of substituting for the hydroxy-groups of silica by hydrocarbon radicals. Next heat treatment in an inert environment at the temperature of 400-600 оС results in formation of material that radiates white light under the action of ultraviolet. Studied series of standards of powders with the different amount of atoms of carbon in the added hydrocarbon radicals. Photoluminescence properties of silica of phenil are studied more in detail. It is set that position of wide stripe of phptoluminescence is displaced in a short-wave area at reduction of temperature to annealing. It is projected, a device is made and approved for the compaction of powders in the process of heat treatment.
