The main result of the project is establishment of influence of tool wear, fiber orientation and other factors on the machined surface quality of holes in of the surface holes in CFRP and composite-metal stacks. Finite element modeling of drilling operation was used as the main research method. Particularly the micromechanical finite-element model of the CFRP cutting operation, methods of temperature measurement during CFRP drilling, method for CFRP tribological properties determination were developed.
