The state of orthopedic aid in Ukraine, the tendencies of development. The aim of investigation is the medico-social substantiation of the necessity of the obligatory early orthopedic treatment of minor bounded edentulous spaces in young patients. The methods of investigation are clinical, epidemiological, topographic, roentgenologic, statistical. The universal scheme of the examination of stomatological orthopedic (orthodontic) patient was worked out. The profound methods of the examination of patients with minor bounded edentulous spaces is offered, the frequency, intensity, structure, types of complications, tendencies of development of such defects and the degree of graveness of their clinical course were determined. The state of orthopedic aid to young patients was studied. The exact tendency of the growing number of young patients with minor bounded edentulous spaces was revealed. The decrease of the level of orthopedic aid in different medico-geographical regions of Ukraine during 1995-2012 is shown. The findings can be applied at: epidemiological studies of stomatological orthopedic morbidity; the revelation of provision, necessity and need in orthopedic aid; the solution of the problems of perfection of organization and planning of orthopedic aid to young patients with minor bounded edentulous spaces and be the basis for the indications for their obligatory early orthopedic treatment and introduction of reduced-price prosthetics.
