Research objective - to examine the patterns of formation of productivity, economically-valuable traits of naked barley plants and create initial material for breeding highly productive, competitive varieties of naked barley that combine adaptive capacity of hulled barley and quality of naked barley and to outline key approaches of their application. Research methods: inter-variety hybridization, chemical mutagenesis, hybridological analysis, selection. As a result of studies, 85 collection variety samples of naked barley are evaluated. Top 25 are selected by the valuable plant-breeding characteristics. Hybridization and chemical mutagenesis are performed. Perspective initial material for breeding naked barley adapted to conditions of Forest-Steppe of Ukraine is obtained.
