The study of vaccination status in 142 HIV-infected children observed in Kyiv city center of HIV/AIDS showed significantly lower levels of vaccination coverage against measles, rubella, mumps (46.6%) and hepatitis B (45.7%), than in the population as a whole. A large proportion of children with HIV infection (42.6%) vaccinated against measles and mumps was revealed to have no protective levels of antibodies against measles (42.6% and 60.6%, respectively). HIV-infected children not immune to measles and mumps are at risk of possible exposure of these infections. The vast majority of children with HIV infection (78%) vaccinated against hepatitis B do not have protective levels of antibodies against hepatitis B. Key predictors of immune defense against controlled viral infections are early treatment of HIV infection (2 first years of life), vaccination on antiretroviral therapy and higher levels of CD4 + T-lymphocytes. This indicates a better immune response to vaccination in children who start ART against the background of severe immunosuppression absence in early childhood or against restoration of immune status after starting ART.
