Aim: Development of theoretical foundations and new technologies of harmful contaminants removal from natural and waste water using photocatalysis processes, membrane filtration, adsorption, disinfection and bioassay for support of environmental welfare of aquatic ecosystems of Ukraine. Methods: The synthesis of nanoparticles, spectroscopy, microbiological methods, ultrafiltration, bioassay, sorption, the analysis of heavy metals and organic substances, assessment of bioavailability of metals. The main results: ecological and hygienic evaluation of water quality in 4 Dnieper River intakes in the summer-autumn low water was done. Priority indicators of water quality is identified. Optimization of conditions for the implementation of water treatment by coagulation on the criterion of maximum reduction of organic matter is carried out. A comprehensive study of samples from bottom sediments on the Black Sea coast is fulfilled. The doped titanium dioxide polymorphic nanoparticles for efficience increase of photo catalysis was received. The efficiency of disinfection of water with silver and copper was studied. The ultrafiltration ceramic membranes for the removal of dyes from water were received and tested. Methods of water conditioning with contains boron was created. The methods of complex biological testing of water quality were carried out. The efficiency of the sorption process in the "radionuclide -natural clay minerals" is investigated.
