This is possible due to a monosemantic dependence of plasma profile on the derivative of phase shift on probing frequency. Taking into account modern progress in a SHF technique, it was suggested to use plasma probing on several close frequencies, in such a way that the derivative of phase shift with a high accuracy is proportional to the differences of phase shifts on some frequencies. With the object of finding the optimal location of a RF antenna for plasma production and heating near a location of a magnetic field strength reduction, detail calculations of magnetic field strength distribution were provided. Three zones with different properties of charged particles confinement were singled out: stellarator zone, magnetic mirror zone, and a flying-off zone. Antenna has to be located in the flying-off zone, closely to the border of magnetic mirror zone. By the use of a self-consistent numerical model for RF plasma production and heating, the calculations were carried out of an optimal location of antenna. The results demonstrated that process of plasma production goes without problems: the flying-off zone (i.e., a zone with bad plasma confinement) is filling in with a plasma, what is necessary for passing through RF waves to the central zone of plasma column.
