It has been shown that unburnt and burnt samples of low-cement corundum castable with pigmental Cr2O3 additive and with new dispersing additive Castament FS65 are characterized by high properties (at level of castable samples with metallurgical Cr2O3 additive), which are corresponded to technical documentation requirements (ТU U 26.2-00190503-334:2010 with change № 1). The petrographic researches of phase composition and structure of the indicated samples have been carried out and it has been shown that their phase composition is presented, in a general way, solid solution of chromium oxide in corundum. The dense structure of samples is formed. Taking into attention the results of researches, which had been carried out in 2012 and in this work, the change № 2 to technological instruction ТI 24-IО-168-2009 with changes № 1 has been developed and approved, and at pilot batch out put in PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the improved production technology of low-cement corundum castable with pigmental Cr2O3 additive and with new dispersing additive Castament FS65 has been mastered. The main properties of unburnt and burnt samples of this low-cement corundum castable pilot batch have been determined and it has been shown that the indicated castable is characterized by high properties, corresponded to technical documentation requirements (ТU U 26.2-00190503-334:2010 with change № 1). As a result of carried out work the raw materials base for manufacture of the above mentioned refractory product type assigned for lining of technical carbon production reactors is expanded. According to technological instruction (ТI 24-IО-168-2009 with change № 1, 2), in PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the pilot batches of traditional grade of "СКБГ" and low-cement grade of "СКБГX-2" corundum castables with properties, which are corresponded to technical documentation requirements (ТU U 26.2-00190503-334:2010 with change № 1), have been produced. This refractory production is intended to consumers on internal and foreign markets (export to Russian Federation). The work should be continued in the direction of further improvement of production technology of low-cement corundum castable with Cr2O3 additive, as well as expanding of its production and application volumes.
