The research object is the English economic terminological system. The study subject is word-formational and cognitive characteristics of terminological units of the English- economic terminological system. The methodological instruments of traditional and cognitive linguistics have been applied for the analysis of the available material, namely:.. method of continuous choice from modern specialized dictionaries and scientific literature, immediate constituents analysis , method of derivational patterining, quantitative calculations, method of frame patterining, semantic and cognitive analysis, method of component analysis and method of patterining conceptual networks . The scientific novelty is explained by carrying out a complex analysis of structural, semantic and lingvocognitive peculiarties of the English economic terminological system. Theoretical statements of the work can be used for teaching courses of Terminology, Word-Formation, Cognitive Linguistics, and in lexicographic practice for compiling terminological dictionaries as well. Fundamental statements and research materials are used in the educational process of PUET at practical courses of Business English and English for Special Purpose. The most substantial results include: revealing derivational patterns and types of affixed, conversalised, compound and clipped economic terms and term-combinations, determining their productivity level of in the English economic terminological system, establishing basic principles of cognitive morphology, defining types of interrelation between derivational formants of economic terms and the type of a frame pattern which they are correlated with, constructing conceptual network of macroconcept of MANAGEMENT as one of the basic macroconcepts in the English economic conceptual field, and revealing its verbalization means in modern English.
