The pseudocapacitance contribution to the overall capacity of supercapacitors formed from porous carbon material (PCM), composite PCM-exfoliated graphite and nitrogen-containing PCM. It was established that the optimum ratio of aqueous KOH electrolyte between nanoporous carbon materials and graphite is 85:15 respectively. It provides specific capacitance EC within 140 - 160 F / g at a discharge current 10 - 100 mA. A equivalent circuit diagram of EC based on the PCM-graphite composite is suggested, which is consistent with the results of impedance spectroscopy. The method of introducing nitrogen in PCM derived from raw materials of plant origin by chemical washing in concentrated nitric acid and subsequent thermal activation in a flow of argon is developed. It was found out that nitrogen-containing carbon materials are characterized by a fractal structure, which is formed by the aggregation of microscopic pores and formation of surface heterostructures nitrogen and oxygen.
