Using multi-region EU-TIMES model, which includes national TIMES-Ukraine model, for the Energy Community countries that are not members of the European Union, several scenarios were modelled regarding final energy consumption reduction by commercial buildings by 2% annually till 2020 and 3% till 2030; energy consumption reduction by power supply and distribution companies by 1,5% annually till 2020 and 2% till 2030; as well as scenarios concerning total final energy consumption reduction by 20% till 2025 and 30% till 2030. Results show that implementation of the Energy Efficiency Directive (2012/27/EU) would require significant financial resources and effective mechanisms for their employment, at the same time this could lead to the substantial and expected energy consumption decrease.5481
