Karazin popup.description2 The objects of study were subcellular fractions of liver homogenates and blood serum of Wistar rats of different age, flies Drosophila melanogaster of line White. The goal of study was elaboration of new ways and means for slowing down aging process and age-related pathologies development on the base of elucidation of new features of donors and inhibitors of NO-synthases effect on the state of prooxidant-antioxidant system, functioning of membrane redox chains of organism and survival of animals under experimental regulation of aging rate. It was shown that one or ten days of NO donors administration had no effect on prooxidant potential under natural and delayed aging and led to its normalization in rats with accelerated aging. At these substances administration, antioxidant potential was increased or normalized under natural and accelerated aging and was not essentially changed under delayed aging. L-NNA resulted in contrary changes of these indices. L-arginine administration from 23-months age under natural and accelerated aging resulted in survival increase, but in rats with calorie restricted diet did not lead to additional rise in this index. In drosophila, L-arginine led to significant increase of life span, аnd L-NNA - to decrease. Application of therapeutic doses of L-arginine as a geroprotector of antioxidant action at the late stages of ontogenesis is suggested.
