For the purpose of gaining an increase in proton beam current, the following modernization of the rf system in the URAL-5 proton accelerator has been performed: (i) water cooling system maintenance; (ii) replacement of high-voltage diodes operating at dc 50mA by 500mA ones, and (iii) change-over from 0.5-0.6kW transformers to 2-3kW devices.
