Investigation's object is a process of specialized (profile) preparation of senior pupils to their future professional activity related to the foreign language. The purpose of the work is theoretically to define, scientifically to ground and experimentally to check up the aims and the maintenance of elective courses for profile preparation of students of senior school to professional activity related to the foreign language. Research methods: analysis, supervision, conversations, questionnaires, modelling, diagnosing. The scientific novelty and theoretical value of the achieved results are in development and scientific-theoretical ground of maintenance, structure, volume of educational material, forms and methods of teaching foreign languages for students of 10-11th classes of profile school in general educational establishments by means of elective courses. Practical results consist in preparation of manuscripts on curriculum of elective courses, conception of manuals and manuals of elective courses in English, Spanish, German, French and in development of pedagogical technologies of its use in school practice. Results of interim report: pedagogical expediency of elective courses in foreign languages in profile forms of secondary educational establishments is substantiated; pedagogical and methodological foreign and native scientific literature on constructing content of elective courses in foreign languages for high profile schools are analysed; the questionnaire of students and teachers of secondary schools to ascertain their views on the semantic content of elective courses textbooks is carried out; conceptual foundations of textbooks content in elective courses (didactic and methodological principles and criteria for selection of textbooks content, structure, functions, methods and technology of education) are disclosed; a) basic requirements for curriculum development content of elective courses, b) criteria for selection of textbooks content, c) content filling of elective courses content are defines and substantiates; main technologies of mastering content elective courses content are defined and characterized; project of content and structure of elective courses curriculum and concepts of textbooks content for elective courses in English, German, French, Spanish are developed; methodical recommendations "Profile teaching foreign language of senior school students", 19 articles, 6 theses are published. Efficiency of introduction: during a period covered the results of 34 research and development works, which were received in current and previous years, were implemented in educational practice of general educational establishments and regional institutes of post-diploma pedagogical education of Ukraine (an educational-methodical manual "Lingual-didactic bases of teaching foreign language to senior students of general educational establishments", methodical recommendations "Profile teaching a foreign language to students of senior school", textbooks and train aids in German and Spanish, expert conclusions, electronic resources, recommendations of all-Ukrainian scientific conferences and others like that). The main theoretical principles on constructing maintenance of the elective courses program and conception of train aids in foreign languages (English, Spanish, German, French) are approved as well. The results of approbation, lighted up in the publications of research workers (26), in lectures/speech at mass scientific-practical measures: conferences, seminars, round table etc. (12), testify to efficiency of the developed principles on the productive providing for teaching foreign languages at profile school.
