Scientific groundation of measures due to decrease of irradiation doses of Ukrainian population from natural radionuclides. Methods. Analytical, gamma-spectrometry, calculated, statistical. Results. It were analyzed mining and milling residues of minerals (191 samples) due to content of natural radionuclides from 32 enterprises. Exceeding of IAEA levels for clearance of material in residue of three oil and gas industrial enterprises from 3 to 30 times was detected. On these enterprises it is recommended to introduce regulatory control. It was established requirements concerning regulatory control over mining and milling enterprises with high content of natural radionuclides. Draft of the normative document concerning radiation protection of public was developed by research result.
