Subject field of the study: functioning of the history of philosophy in the spiritual culture of Ukraine. The focus the study: elaboration of general methodological approaches to contemporary development of knowledge in the history of philosophy, and its use in relation to functioning of the philosophic dimension of the spiritual culture of Ukraine. Methodology of the study: combination of principles of the logical, historical, and comparative methods with the biographical method. It is laid a methodological foundation for the conception of study in area of the history of philosophy in connection with the concept of 'the philosophical culture'. It was formulated and clarified a concept of the double identity and cultural parallelism in the history of philosophy of the Ukraine. A methodological substantiation was given for the paradigmatic approach to the history of philosophy of Ukraine. It is made clear that the paradigmatic approach allows determining and description of historical patterns that take place in formation of the culture of Ukraine, revealing its multipoint nature and the different vectors of its development. It is specified that the contemporary stage of development in the history of philosophy of Ukraine is prone to form a monolithic paradigm, though, taking into consideration the chronotope of the contemporary paradigm, this tendency is rather unproductive. It is specified that one of the defining features of the contemporary Ukrainian paradigm is the presence of inner controversies, which are dialectical, but often finding not the way into the space of dialogue, they cause the situation of philosophical 'deafness' and 'dumbness' that, in its own turn, does not permit to overcome the inner aporia, and to reach higher and more productive level of philosophical cooperation. It is specified the place of Russian philosophy in the spiritual culture of the Ukraine: it is stated that formation of the contemporary philosophy and culture of Ukraine, since the eighteenth century till today, has been intimately connected with Russian intellectual tradition, which caused appearance of the phenomenon of 'double identity'. It has been specified the methodology for study of the phenomenon of 'the symphony of ideas' for thinkers that belong to different contexts in the history of philosophy. It is newly substantiated the reasonability to study the history of philosophy of Ukraine in the world context - on the scope of the universal history of philosophy. It is substantiated the idea of topographic history of philosophy in connection with biographical approach. In the context of the local studies in the history of philosophy, it is examined the correlation between a province and the capital, and its role in development of philosophical knowledge. A part of materials (The Notebooks), belonging to S. Frank's archive has been classified, described, and examined.
