Work objective - the objective of DEE fulfillment (in accordance with the "Requirements specifications on developing the AI-450 turbo-shaft engine with rear output of the power take-off shaft, RS 7541318.35.0056") is in drawing up a set of design documentation for manufacture, testing, supply and operation of turbo-shaft engine models АI-450М and АI-450М1 (Order № 804 dated 26.08.2010 in SE "Ivchenko-Progress"). DEE fulfillment stages: The work was performed within one stage and included the following sub-stages: - shaping of parametric and design concept of TSH GTE models, performance of gas-dynamic and strength calculations, schematic and detailed design of the engine major units, development of requirements specifications for the engine automatic control system accessory units; - drawing up a set of TSH GTE design documentation (drawings of parts and assembly units, specifications and register lists, standard specifications for production and delivery, maintenance manuals and maintenance interval schedules); - correction of the engine design document set based on the results of pilot batch manufacture, conduct of experimental/development and certification test scope. Theoretical and practical results of DEE: determined is the engine appropriate conceptual design ensuring realization of an advanced level of the gas-dynamic parameters, weight, ecological and economic characteristics of the engine, as well as enabling further engine development both on the main characteristics and on extension of the field of application of the engine and its gas-turbine drive on various air vehicles; based on the DEE results developed was a set of design documents for several models of the AI-450 TSH GTE rated up to 465 hp for powering light helicopters; based on the results of certification of TSH GTE conforming to the set of DD, that was developed in the course of DEE, the Type Certificates of the State Air Service of Ukraine (No.TD0042) and the Air Register of Interstate Aviation Committee (No.СТ350-АМД) for the models АI-450M, АI-450М-P, АI 450М1 and АI 450М1-P were issued. Conclusions - the work results can be applied for batch production and operation of АI-450М, АI-450М-P, АI 450М1 and АI 450М1-P TSH GTE models for powering light helicopters.
