The direct current traction power supply system is a source of harmful and dangerous influences on communication and automatic devices, telemechanics and CTC. They are caused by harmonics of the variable component of the contact wire voltage and current, produced by the traction substation rectifying plant. Nowadays this problem is solved with the help of passive filters. The researcheshave gathered all the necessary information to make simulation models of smoothing devices of traction substations. The schemes have been simulated in MATLAB package. After the analysis of simulation results the recommendations have been given as for the further exploitation of smoothing devices of traction substations.
