Vlokh of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine popup.description2 The analysis was carried out and the main patterns of topological defects in the orientation of the optical indicatrix arising in optically isotropic media with inhomogeneous residual mechanical stresses were detected. Taking into account the approximate boundary conditions, the analytical correlations were derived that describe the spatial distribution of mechanical stress tensor components and parameters of optical indicatrix caused by the edge and screw dislocations. The behavior of topological defects in the orientation of the optical indicatrix was investigated in cubic, hexagonal, tetragonal and trigonal crystals under the influence of inhomogeneous electric field conical view at coexistence of Pockels and Kerr electrooptical nonlinearities. The generation of radiation in cells filled with a mixture of cholesteric liquid crystal doped with dye was investigated and temporal and temperature stabilities of tightly defected liquid crystal structures were studied.
