Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 It was shown oxidative mechanism of low-intensity microwave radiation mutagenic action (900 MHz; 0,21-13,2 ?Vt / cm2) on the model of early embryogenesis of Japanese quail, as indicated a reliable increase rate of superoxide radicals and nitric oxide generation, as well as a significant increase (2-3 times) the level of 8-oxoguanosine in irradiated embryonic cells. A significant increase of oxidative DNA damage in laboratory rats when exposed to low-intensity microwave radiation also was showed. Essential significance of digitally modulated radiation (GSM standard) to produce biological effects was revealed. Unmodulated microwave radiation in similar conditions did not produce significant biological effects. In model studies in vitro the participation of antioxidant enzymes (catalase and superoxide dismutase) in the biological effects of low-intensity microwave radiation was found.
