The report demonstrates the integrated assessment techniques wide spread use as a tool for the study of epidemic processes in the practice of public health. Different methodological approaches to the creation of integrated assessments and methods for selecting indicators for integrated assessment, selected best practices for training and integration indicators were analyzed. The author's developed methodology of spatial-temporal analysis of epidemic process of HIV-infection and co-infection of TB / HIV and tuberculosis was shown. The possibilities of visualization of the epidemiological situation by means of cartography, including geo-information systems, were demonstrated. The results of the analysis of the links between the epidemiological situation of TB / HIV co-infection, tuberculosis and socio-economic and health-social status of the territory were demonstrated, which have shown the superiority of the proposed model and the possibility of an integrated assessment of the epidemiological situation. As a result of the analysis of the validity of some epidemiological indicators that characterize the epidemic process of HIV infection, there were revealed a lack of validity of indicators - such as the number of new cases of HIV infection, infection by the results of surveys during routine seroepidmonitoring, mortality from the disease caused by HIV. Authors provide recommendations for improving of the system of HIV infection epidemiological surveillance. The technique of building of thesaurus information retrieval models during information retrieval in the process of scientific and practical work in the field of medicine and biology were given. There were demonstrated results of a comprehensive study, which included the analysis of a system of measures, monitoring and evaluation of programs for combating HIV / AIDS; analysis of the epidemiological situation of HIV infection, including the study of awareness, attitudes to HIV / AIDS and behavioral characteristics of students of Odessa; analysis of the draft regulations in the area of combating HIV / AIDS; search and analysis of the literature on effective interventions to prevent HIV infection. Examples of the results using of a comprehensive study on the problem of the formation of a program to combat HIV / AIDS at the national and regional levels were presented. The results of research are used in the analysis of the epidemiological situation of co-infection of HIV / TB and TB in regions of Ukraine. Summarized results are presented in the monograph.
