Semenenko Institute of Geochemistry, mineralogy and Ore Formation popup.description2 Technogenic deposits of iron ores of Krivyy Rih region were characterized. Analogs of semi-industrial facilities for production of iron ore concentrates are created, namely: facility for transformation of low-magnetic iron ore materials to strongly magnetic by means of reducing gases and the facility for separation of highly disperse iron raw materials. The modes of transformations of magnetic properties and structure of iron ores under the influence of reducing gases were investigated by means of the created facility and grade of transformation depending on the size of particles, temperature in the reactor, etc. was determined. It is shown that during the roasting of hematite ore in the CO atmosphere at temperatures of 300 - 700 °C, the magnetite forms with Curie temperature of 550 - 560 °C. Magnetization of the obtained samples increases several times. Magnetic separation of the transformed samples was carried out by means of the created facility and it was shown that concentration of iron in concentrate reaches, for some samples, up to 69%. Novelty of obtained results is that the separation of metallic and nonmetallic components happens using combined action of permanent and non-permanent magnetic fields.
