The aim of this work is to improve the technology of growing seeds of the new varieties of Melilotus in the conditions of southern steppe of Ukraine. To determine the optimal sowing date, seeding rate with use of the herbicide Treflan and of a Pulsar with a different application rate. To establish seed production of Melilotus depending on the studied factors. Research methods: field - to monitor the growth and development of plants, weather and climatic conditions of the environment and other surveyed factors; visual - to detect phenological changes in plants; measuring and weighing - to determine biometric parameters of growth and development of plants of winter rape (establishment of photosynthetic activity of plants: leaf area, photosynthetic potential, dynamics of accumulation of dry weight of plants, net photosynthetic productivity, establish the parameters of crop structure, yield); laboratory for determining the quality of seed material; mathematical-statistical - carrying out variance analysis and statistical data processing to assess the reliability of the results of research; design-comparative - to assess the economic and energy efficiency of elements of technology of cultivation of corn. In the job output for 2016 was improved the technological process of growing white clover is an annual in the conditions of southern steppe of Ukraine. Studies have established that the optimum conditions for the growth and development of plants of Melilotus formed of sowing in the first decade of April, when average seed yield was 0.86 t/ha. The highest seed yield of 0.88 t/ha, on average for 2016, was obtained at a seeding rate of 2.5 million PCs/ha (НІР05 = 0,020 t/ha). In the experiment with herbicides, the maximum seed yield of white clover is an annual variety of the South of 0.92 t/ha were obtained by application of the herbicide pulsar 40 application rate 1.0 l/ha (НІР05 A - 0,042 t/ha, In - 0,034 t/ha). The best indicators of economic efficiency of cultivation of culture was obtained sowing in the first decade of April with a seeding rate of 2.5 million PCs/ha, when conditionally net profit amounted to 56.6 thousand UAH/ha at the lowest production cost of 1 t of seeds of 4.01 thousand UAH/t and a high level of profitability 1411,5 %. In the experiment with herbicides, the maximum value of gross output per 1 ha - 55,2 thousand UAH/ha was obtained at sowing white clover is an annual variety of the South, which used the herbicide pulsar 40 application rate 1 l/ha. this was also the maximum in the experience of conditionally net profit of 51.9 thousand UAH/ha and was lowest installed cost of one ton of seed 3,6 thousand UAH, and the total value of economic efficiency - the level of profitability was the highest and amounted to 1441,7 %.
