However, the overall situation in the field of science in modern Ukraine as the population, and by scientists themselves assessed as unsatisfactory, marked a significant backlog of Ukrainian science world level, forecasted further deterioration of the state of affairs in the Ukrainian science. Factors that hamper the development of national science: socio-economic factors, key among which is the extremely low level of funding; socio-political factors (misunderstanding and underestimation of the authorities of the role of science in modern society) and institutional factors (deficiencies in the organization and management science), as well as the low activity of the scientists themselves are trying to change things for the better.
