Work aim is to determine the laws for creation of formating strength and activate sorbents from blends of long flame coal and cokechemical wastes, to detect their adsorption properties and to comparise the obtined samples characteristics accordig to activation type. Research methods: activation (by vapour (VA) and alkaline (AA) of carbonizates , mechanic strenth determination of sorbents, nitrogen and carbon dioxide adsorption as the method for porous structure estimation, some heavy metals and phenols adsorption determination too. It was established the yield of activated carbon is depened of blend composition and it is variables into interval 37-49% for AA, and 79 - 90 % for VA. Waste addition promoutes the development of micro porosity (pores diameter less 2 nm) for both types activation. The effect is increased according to elevated effect of рenetration hardness (PH) in initial blends. Part of micropores in total pore volume (Vmi/Vсум) at AA is 0,74±0,04, subnanopores (D до1 нм) bring the main impact (72-79%) into microporosity. Mezoporosity part not exceeds 20%. In vapour activated samples part of microporous is 76 - 90 %. Activated (by AA) coa from carbonizates has specific surface SBET - 900-1200 м2/г, and activated by VA samples have SDFT near 500-600 м2/г, they differ by high mechanical strenth (МS - 88-90%), but LA samples are powder sorbents of low strength. It analysed the posibilities of obtained sorbents toward adsortion of some heavy metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Co, Fе) and phenols. Sorbtion activity for sorbents with cokechemical wastes addition is not lower, than for some industrial samples.
